VENUE: LA 7006, National Sun Yat-sen University

Jürgen Habermas, one of the most important philosophers in our age, has proposed the idea of a “new philosophy of the Axial Age” recently. According to Habermas, its basic conditions must be in accordance to the so-called “post-metaphysical” thought. Therefore, we consider it necessary to be a trans-cultural philosophy. By discussing the relationships between Heidegger and Taoism, we will explore a path from the Eastern culture to the Western culture, and thereby raising the possibility of a “new philosophy of the Axial Age” in trans-cultural perspectives.
