Through the lens of Dutch philosophy of technology, this presentation will explore the ethical and political issues that may arise when designing and implementing "green behavior-steering technology" to promote pro-environmental behavior. It will also discuss how these issues reflect the shortcomings of current ethical perspectives and political theories. Finally, it will argue for and propose an alternative democratic model to address and accommodate the power of artifacts.
